Travel broadens the mind. That’s why our company travelled to Silicon Valley in January 2018. We visited Facebook, Plug and Play, and explored Stanford campus life. On other occasions, some of us visit the OMR Festival, fly to SXSW and to the dmexco to soak up all that’s going on in the industry.
Beyond this, further education at SM+ can happen in many different ways. We look for the best possible individual solution for our employees and the organisation. Some colleagues complete a part-time master’s degree or a professionals programme at the ESCP Business School, others attend seminars at the Miami Ad School or upskill through individual coaching, use Meetups to engage with the Berlin digital scene, or simply help themselves to one of the many books in our library.
But we not only learn, we also teach. We publish books, studies, and industry reports, give talks and support startups, and in doing so create a supportive, growing ecosystem.
“In the Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme at the ESCP U-School, I sharpened my entrepreneurial skills in a very specific way and also made many exciting connections with executives from other industries.” – Philipp
“Curiosity, continuous learning and thinking outside the box are fundamental to our work as strategists and are firmly anchored in the company culture at SM+.
After a few years of working, I wanted to delve even deeper into the topics of (digital) innovation and entrepreneurship and specialise even further. At SM+ I had the opportunity to continue my education by doing a 18-month executive master’s degree at the ESCP. In this way I could pursue my personal interests and sharpen my consulting skills in fields that are currently highly relevant to our clients.” – Laura
“Following my bachelor’s degree, I wanted to gain practical experience. After two years at SM+, I again wanted to pursue an academic education and enrolled in the part-time Master in Management course at HHL, which I am now completing alongside my full-time job as a brand consultant. I am very grateful that SM+ grants me the time and I think it’s great to have so much freedom in my work. I was even able to do a semester abroad in Singapore!” – Liv
